Raphael Díaz.

Who ever want to understand me …
Should examine my painting with caution …

My paintings reflect the migratory condition of mankind. Through history, mankind have migrated in search of better life and opportunities. Searching for the fudamental of human life: shelter, food, education for their children, human right and the possibility to contribute on the develop of the country that they make call home. My work is done with this on mind. The Latino comes to the United States and Europe searching for these dreams. My family did that and my contribution to the earth and the place that I call home is my work.

The later paintings reveals the artist personal life and his ethnicity. His life and his circumstances are affected by religion, culture and custom. I am a Latino artist painting the history of my life like a poet write his feeling in a poem. I am creating paintings in a society with different custom than my mine but yet a society that use the same tools in order to construct the ritual of life. These tools we use to communicate and to express our existence. Painting is just one example.
